Menno Simons College prepares graduates for work in almost every
field of employment.
Conflict Resolution Studies
Our Conflict Resolution Studies graduates go on to work as victim-offender mediators, conflict resolution trainers, human relations managers and workplace facilitators.
But conflict is everywhere. Studies in conflict resolution are valuable in any workplace setting where people are involved. Our graduates use their new skills and knowledge to find employment in the following areas:
- education
- child and family services
- justice
- law
- labour
- business
- government
- church leadership
- other social institutions
International Development Studies
Our world is increasingly inter-connected. Markets, communications and culture bring us all closer together. This makes us increasingly aware of development issues and economic justice.
Coursework in International Development Studies is relevant to work in a growing number of fields. Graduates from the IDS program find work with local community efforts and broad-ranging international development projects.
As an interdisciplinary liberal-arts degree, International Development Studies is also an excellent platform for graduate studies. Alone or part of a double major, it is an excellent start for further education.
With an intense, work-related practicum, our graduates are equipped to begin international development work within government, business or civil society.
See the list of over 50 practicum placements for an idea of the range of workplace activities in this field. These include the following:
